I began as an illustrator and printmaker at Camberwell Art School, then went on to the Royal College of Art film and television school in London. My first film about artist Michael Rothenstein won the College's coveted silver medal. I married writer Sally Zane soon after and we produced two children, Adam and Myfanwy, who have since become media people in their own right. Sally passed away in 2005.
After a brief stint at ABC TV as a set designer, I began making television programmes when Denis Mitchell, one of Britain's leading documentary film-makers asked me to direct for his series This England and since then I've made over 100 productions.
In the late '70s four friends and I formed New Media Productions and we became pioneers in video disc programming for companies such as American Express and Grolier Encyclopaedia. I now run a fully independent production company where I produce, direct, shoot, edit and compose music for films that I have always wanted to make. For more info please click the production list!
